Our Story

My Journey with Vastra Heritage

I grew up in Surat, a city known not only for its booming textile industry but also for its deep-rooted connection to Indian culture and fashion. From a young age, I was surrounded by vibrant fabrics, intricate embroidery, and the artistry of skilled craftsmen. The clatter of machines and the soft rustle of silk became the soundtrack of my life. My fascination with textiles wasn’t just a passing interest—it was in my blood.

Inspired by generations of craftsmanship around me, I founded Vastra Heritage with a singular mission: to bring the timeless beauty of Indian sarees to the modern woman while supporting the artisans who make them.

Starting this journey was not easy. I knew that to stand out, I had to go beyond just selling sarees. I wanted each piece to tell a story—of tradition, of culture, and of the hands that wove them. I travelled across villages, met weavers, listened to their stories, and began curating collections that celebrated both heritage and innovation.

At Vastra Heritage, we blend traditional weaves with contemporary aesthetics, offering everything from luxurious Kanjivaram silks and elegant Banarasi sarees to soft organzas and breathable cotton-silks perfect for today’s lifestyle. Each design is thoughtfully created, respecting age-old techniques while adding a touch of modern flair.

One of the pillars of my brand has always been ethical craftsmanship. We work closely with skilled artisans—many of whom are women—to ensure fair wages, dignified working conditions, and a deep sense of pride in their work. Their dedication and artistry are the soul of Vastra Heritage.

Technology played a big role in taking this dream global. Through our online platform and social media, we now connect with women across India and the world—women who wear our sarees not just for their beauty, but for the story they carry.

Today, when I see brides draped in our sarees or women celebrating festivals in Vastra Heritage pieces, I feel humbled and grateful. This brand is more than just a business—it is my tribute to Indian heritage, to Surat’s rich legacy, and to every artisan who keeps our traditions alive with each thread they weave.

Vastra Heritage is not just about wearing a saree—it’s about wearing a piece of history, with pride.
